I Really Have To Get Better At This

Easter was last weekend. I'm just posting about it now. Forgive my laziness.
Easter this year was reflective and quiet, since my family {sans my father} all trekked to Utah for the week and Franco's family just wanted to rest after my niece's 1st birthday party on Saturday the 11th.
I did have some fun, though, making these "confetti eggs" to give out. I've been saving eggshells for months for this very day. I wish they'd turned out better {colorwise} but of course when I gave them out and everyone crushed theirs to tiny bits, I don't think it mattered what they looked like.
I started with about 20 empty egg shells {this was great because then I didn't have to find ways to use the hard-boiled eggs later!} that had a hole on the top; rinsed them out, of course, then sloshed them around in the egg-coloring recipe on the back of the food coloring box.
After a few minutes, they'd be colored inside & out and then I placed them on a rack to dry overnight.
When they dried, I planned to put confetti inside so we'd have fun cracking them on each other's heads, but it was late Friday night when I was making them and I didn't want to make confetti. Instead, I bought little bunny marshmallows and pastel M&M's with which to fill the eggs.
To seal the top, I just used a square of colorful tissue paper & glue, and the eggs were ready to be cracked open & enjoyed on Easter!
I realize it's a lot of work and I could have just used plastic eggs, but...where's the fun in that?
I also made little treat bags for Franco's 12 and 13 year olds he teaches at church. I love that picture of Christ and the message I got from the First Presidency's Easter message.
