Paint The Picture Of The Perfect Place.

The L.A. County Fair is huge. Huge! And it's 15 minutes away at the Pomona fairgrounds. We got to go at the end of last summer and the tram ride itself to get from the parking lot to the front entrance took 10 minutes! There were two big sections with all types of rides, many exhibitions, a zoo (we saw kangaroos!) a place called the "Pirate's Cove" where I got dubbed "Stub Leg Kidd", tons of shops, games, and of course food.

Incidentally, that was the day I finally owned up to the fact that I might be pregnant (even though we had known for weeks) and I took a test. Guess what the result was? ;) You guessed it, positive! So what better way to celebrate than to wander around eating junk food and watching my favorite band, OneRepublic, in concert? It was a perfect day. And OneRepublic was amazing.

Five For Fighting Concert At The Canyon Club

To continue with my lucky streak of free concert tickets
Franco and I were able to go to a Five for Fighting concert on Saturday night for free.
It was at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills about 30 minutes away.
The tickets were standing room only,
but we got there in plenty of time and got a spot equivalent to the 5th row from the stage.

Five for Fighting is one singer/songwriter John Ondrasik.
and Chances which was in the movie The Blind Side
I love his music {especially his piano songs}
and it was so cool to watch him perform.
He's a whiz at the piano and most of his lyrics are true to the heart.

I made a video collage of my favorite songs.
It's a good way for me to consolidate the dozen videos I took into one.

{Note: I think you have to use a browser other than Google Chrome to watch videos on blogger-- is this true for you Chromers out here?}
I had to break it up into two parts:
Part 1 is of The Riddle & his intro where he explains where the name Five for Fighting came from.
It's not because it's a five-guy band, as most people think, lol.

"In the late 90's when I got my first record deal, the label came to me and said, "You know, John, this is the age of grunge. This is the age of Lilith Fair. This is the age of boy bands--the male singer/songwriter is the kiss of death. So we need a band name...no one can pronounce Ondrasik anyway..." So my first suggestion was "Marketing Ploy," which didn’t go over too good..."

Part 2 is of Superman, the electric cello in this is like a lullaby, so pretty; and of 100 Years.
It was a great concert!

Colbie Caillat & Jason Reeves

Colbie & Jason are good friends.
He was playing at Zoey's Cafe in Ventura last night
and he invited Colbie to watch him perform.

{She even tweeted about it...
"I'm at Zoey's in Ventura, Ca watchin my good friends Jason Reeves and
Brendan James play a show, eating yummy food and drinkin good wine!"}

Well, of course he wasn't going to let her sit
on the sidelines without having her sing,
so here they are singing a duet called "Droplets."

Colbie introducing the song.

Colbie & Jason singing "Droplets."

Janet Carlson gave me two free tickets. {score!}
and I invited Hayley to come with me.

We didn't know for sure that Colbie would be there.
But she was.
And our table was two feet from the stage.
It was really an unbelievable night.

Makes me want to take advantage of where I live.
I'm so close to so many cool places!
Disneyland, Hollywood, LA, Montecito, Santa Barbara...
I need to live it up in socal before we move away.
Thankfully, we just renewed our lease for 17 months.
I love Camarillo!

Britney: The Only Songs I Knew

From the Britney Spears concert last night.

I didn't know any of her new songs, but that was okay.

Here's the end of "Toxic" and the beginning of "Hit Me Baby One More Time," the only songs I did know.

It's pretty blurry because we were up in the rafters...Yay for free concerts!!

I Went To A Britney Spears Concert

Susie scored some free tickets to see Britney Spears at the Staples Center in LA on Wednesday, September 23.
She put on quite a show! It was themed "Circus" and though I didn't know any of her new songs, she did sing "Baby One More Time" towards the end. I guess she's been singing for 10 years, so this was a pretty special tour for her. It was a blast! I had fun hanging out with Susie although we did get so lost a couple times...thank goodness for the GPS.
