One Pregnancy Post A Week: Almost.

I think I've taken a total of a maybe a dozen bona-fide "baby bump" photos since last September (usually taken by yours truly). I never felt the need to record the progress of my, to put it bluntly, 9-month+ journey of constant weight-gain. Maybe I'll regret it later...I'm guessing I won't. But once in a while, I'd be bored or would be wearing a cute outfit and I'd had a camera handy, so I'd take a picture. That's how these two pictures came to be.

{Click below to read more.}

The first picture was taken on Thursday, March 15th when I was 33 weeks along. Franco has clerkships on Thursdays so that's my day to stay home and catch up on things. While browsing online I saw a pregnancy progress picture of a woman wearing pretty much the same thing I currently had on, sitting on an all-white bed, and I thought, I can take a picture like that. So I did. Not the easiest thing to do, let me tell you, since I had to prop my (heavy) camera precariously on an overturned wire basket on top of a bookcase, focus the lens on a balloon (the only thing available to use as an easily-removable prop), set the timer, run (rather uncomfortably) to the bed, pull the balloon out of the way, and try pose in a totally relaxed as well as an "I'm so happy I'm pregnant" way before the timer went off. Needless to say, I'll wait for Franco next time.

The second picture was taken a couple of days ago during a picnic I enjoyed out in the sunshine, and it was one of those cute outfit/camera handy/why not? pictures. My boy is 36 weeks old here. I haven't had to buy any maternity clothes besides three pairs of those awfully comfortable pants with the stretchy pull-over bands. Most of my pregnancy wardrobe has been acquired from various secondhand stores in the area. Right now I'm living in jersey maxi skirts and long dresses, and once in a while I'll try a little harder and actually put together an outfit, complete with a little belt to accentuate my non-existent waist.

Fat jokes aside, I have really been blessed during this pregnancy and I hope and pray any and all future pregnancies are like this one has been: pretty chill. I can still sleep (miracle!) and though I move slowly, I can still get around easily--work, grocery shopping, visiting friends, church, etcetera. But as I'm sure any previously-pregnant lady feels at this point, I'm anxious for it to end and to finally be able to hold my little boy for the first time. All I can say is, almost. Almost.
