L.A. Traffic + Peppermint Hot Cocoa

L.A. traffic stinks.

Last Thursday, it took Franco and I two hours
to drive 45 miles to get to the Santa Monica temple for our church.
It usually only takes us 50 minutes to an hour, tops.

We got there at 7:32, two minutes late for the gathering we wanted to attend.
We don't like be late for things, so instead of tip-toeing and disturbing the meeting,
we spent some time at the Family History and Visitor's Centers next to it.
I found an 80-year old census document with my great-grandparent's names on them,
when they were 24 and 25 years old!
We also got to watch a short video about Christ's birth
{only a month and 3 days til you know what!}.

We had to wait for Iris, Franco's sister to come out of the temple
as we were her ride home,
so we killed the rest of the time at a nearby Coffee Bean.
We shared a chocolate-filled croissant and I had their peppermint hot cocoa.
Sooooo yum.
Definitely recommend it if you want to get into the holiday mood.

We were sad to miss the special church event, but that taught us to
never rely on L.A. traffic!
Tip: Always leave an hour earlier than you need to, just in case.
At least we got to see the beautiful temple grounds lit up at night.
