The Greatest Disneyland Adventure: A Story

...on the very sunny Saturday of July 17, 2010,
...it was the 55th anniversary of Disneyland.
Four brave travelers, Franco, Ruth, Karent, and Anelieze, made the 100 mile trek {aka an hour and 15 minute drive} to the land of disney to celebrate summer, fun, and family.
Over the hills and through the woods these faithful fans went. 'Twas a long and hard journey, but the happy travelers kept a cheerful attitude. They would soon be at the Happiest Place On Earth! {Actually the third happiest, but that's another story for another time.}

Along the way, a few friends stopped to say hello! There was Buzz Lightyear, the Rabbit, the surly Queen of Hearts, Tigger, Woody, Jessie, the Green Army Guy, Pluto, Goofy, and Mickey & Minnie!
In the land of disney, there is a park called "California Adventure."
There, the travelers checked into their hotel:
The Hollywood Tower of Terror.
Weird name for a hotel, they thought.
Their rooms were on the 13th floor so they had to wait for the elevator. Once inside, the elevator took them up and up, but then it jerked to a stop. Oh, no, the elevator was broken! It suddenly went plummeting down, down into the dark abyss. They knew they should have taken the stairs...
To their great surprise and relief, the elevator stopped just before crashing into the ground. What luck! The travelers got out of there as fast as they could. They shakily walked down a street called "Hollywood Boulevard" and waited for their stomachs to return to their normal place.

Being native Californians, they pretended they had never been to the real Hollywood Blvd and posed for pictures in the fake one as if they were tourists.
The street had its charms...

A red phonebooth...
An armless statue...
{Does Anelieze know she's grabbing the statue's butt?}

A door with nobody on the other side...
A pretty, old, pretty old bench.
After Hollywood, the crew went to the wild, wild west where Franco whooped the girl's butts at the virtual shooting games. Ride 'em, Cowboy!
The four trooped up and down and in and out of both Disneyland & California Adventure all day. It was 95+ degrees for hours, so they ducked in and out of air-conditioned shops and had a lot of frozen lemonades & Dole whips to try to stay cool.
They had fun playing around and taking silly pictures!
The parks were teeming with color and life. It was truly a spectacle to behold.
{The new World of Color attraction at Cali Adventure was magnificent! Will post video later.}

The Castrejons loved the land of Disney so much they bought some real estate!
Welcome to Castrejon Castle!
Just kidding, they didn't buy it.
It wasn't big enough for them.

Well, despite the scorching hot weather, our four fantastic friends had the time of their lives. 16 hours of the land of Disney was tiring but unforgettable! Until next time!
The End. Le Fin. El Fin.
