Perfect for summer, pour yourself some freshly-squeezed lemonade from this old-fashioned glass drink dispenser. All yours for $39.95 from Crate & Barrel.
On the subject of homemade lemonade, there's nothing I like more than lemons. I always have a basketful of big, juicy lemons on my counter. I use lemon juice on fish tacos, to spice up pico de gallo, on tillapia, on a million other things. But what I love to make most is lemonade. I have perfected the process of making it, though I don't have a concrete recipe, persay. I thought I'd share my process for lemony lemonade:
I squeeze the juice out of a couple medium-sized lemons {or a few small ones, or one-and-a-half large lemons} using a collander {for the seeds} over a pitcher.
Once there is between a 1/2-inch to 1 inch of juice at the bottom, I fill it up with cold filtered water and mix it with a spoon.
Here's my awesome tip: taste the lemon water before adding sugar and make sure you can taste the lemon--that's why it's called lemonade, right? This will prevent you from drinking water with sugar, and a touch of lemon somewhere in there...
Then add sugar until it just sweetens the sourness, but be careful of adding too much. Once that's done, put in some ice cubes and drink up!
Was this process any different of how you make lemonade? I've received many compliments on my lemonade {funny, I know} so I don't know if it's how I prepare it or if maybe they just wanted to be nice...
