Funny story. So, Franco and I didn't eat much at our wedding, including our wonderful cake provided by Jade Bakery, and the one and only bite I had was heavenly. I just remember it being very delicious. I knew about the tradition of eating the top of the cake at our first anniversary, but the idea of eating 1-yr-old cake was not too appealing to me. So we didn't save it. What I didn't know, and this is the funny part, was that my Aunt Edna saved a big piece for us and put it in my parent's freezer! When we talked to her just last week and she asked us if we'd eaten our cake I said, No, we didn't save it, but she said, I did! It's in your parent's freezer! I go over to my parent's house and lo and behold, it's there!! Thanks to my wonderful and thoughtful aunt I did not regret not having our wedding cake on our first anniversary, which was on June 22nd. Here are some pictures of the "belated" and memorable event of eating 1-yr-old cake.
Yum.
Franco pretending to eat it. He had one tiny bite.
Sarah & Brandon Jade made this custom for my tastes! White cake with different berry filling and white chocolate frosting. It was pretty good for being one year old...
The "C" was our cake-topper.
Happy First Anniversary to Us!!
Do you have a funny 1-yr-old cake eating story? I want to hear it!!
