Then the movies began to come out. The first one came out in November 2001, so conveniently close to my birthday. I saw it on the first night.
I'm sure you can guess when I saw the third movie...

It's Tradition!
Here's my brief story on how I got hooked on the Harry Potter series: I was in 8th grade when the hype broke out. I resisted. I was a sophomore in high school, I think, when I finally picked up the first book. I had never read anything like it. It was fantastic. I read the next one. And the next one. And the third~ the 4th had just come out so instead of borrowing it, I bought it, then bought the first three books. After that, I purchased every new book in the series on the first day it debuted.

I got hooked on Harry Potter when I was in China teaching english and had LOTS of time to read. I think it was by the time the 3rd book was out. I've been to every midnight release party since then.
The 4th I went with rooommates in Provo. The 5th was when Scott and I were dating. The 6th in DC when I was preggers with Syd. And the last in Orem right after Rob was born. Yes, we took both our babies to the midnight release.
I even knitted Slytherin and Griffindor scarves and made shirts for everyone. SO FUN!
I've only been to 1 of the midnight movie releases. I think it was #2 or 3. (The one with the snake). With Scott. And I want to go to the midnight release for this SO BAD But I'm going to be with the kids in Portland and Scott will be here.
I guess it'll be date night when we get home!
I too have seen 2, 3, 4 & 5 on opening night with my sister. Unfortunately I will not be able to see the 6th with her...but I am trying to talk Cody into it. ;) You're awesome!
